Tool/software:

we have used the TPA3110D2PWPR amplifier along with PoE from TI in our IP Speaker project. Got reviewed both the schematics and layout.

I am attaching the schematics of the project again for your reference. Our issue is that the on-board TI amplifier (TPA3110D2PWPR) is not producing any sound from the speaker.

We have also provided a provision to connect an external amplifier on the same board.  When we connect the external amplifier, the audio output from the speaker works fine. This confirms that communication among CODEC, MPU, and external amplifier is proper. (Refer to the image below showing the external amplifier connection. Case2) 

However, with the on-board TI amplifier, there is no audio output from the speaker. We have also implemented a gain control mechanism in the circuit. Please review the on-board amplifier circuit (shown below) and help us identify the issue. (case1)

    Hello,

    Is the fault pin triggering? When you use an external amp, are you using the TPA3110D2 EVM?

    We are currently using the TPA3110D2PWPR amplifier on our board, driving a 30 W speaker. The amplifier works, but when the volume is increased, the audio quality degrades significantly. I understand that the TPA3110D2 is specified for 30 W output power at 10% THD+N.

    Can you please suggest an alternative amplifier IC, preferably with the same footprint, that can deliver around 60 W output (or at least 30 W in mono BTL mode) with <1% THD+N?

    Hello,

    For a test please increase your PVDD to the max recommended spec of 26 V. I think the issue is that your PVDD is too low to drive at the higher output powers. 

    For another device rec I would look into TPA3156D2.
