TAS5431-Q1: STARTUP PROBLEM

Part Number: TAS5431-Q1

FOLLOW UP QUESTION

the response from my inquiry suggested i use two inductors instead of the coupled inductor on the evm. i notice the data sheet for the inductor used in the evm indicates it is optimised for audio use. if i use two inductors, is there any particular parameter that i should give attention, such as dcr, inductance tolerance, leakage inductance, or Isat when using switching inductors. i am using the TAS5431-Q1 for about 3 watts output. PVDD = 15V.

Thanks,

  • Hi Jerry

Usually keep the Temperature rise allowable current higher than your RMS output current. And make the Saturation current higher than your Peak output current.

The other parameter of inductor doesn't have clear relation ship with the audio performance, need to do real test to find out, mostly the THD may influence by the inductor.
