Customer is trying to drive a BSP1212-03H03-06 LF speaker (data sheet attached). This device requires 1V ro 25V operating voltage. The LM48580 produces a 30V output. Is there a way to adjust this? If not, what else can you recommend to drive the BSP1212-03H03-06 LF?

Hi John,

The LM48580 is a fully differential amplifier and has a BTL (differential) output. To decrease the output voltage, use the single ended input configuration shown in Fig. 5 in the Data Sheet and also use a single ended output configuration.

Hi Jeff,

Thanks for that suggestion. An alternate singled ended input configuration would be as showen in figure 18 of the data sheet. Is this correct? Any advantages of either configuration?

Hi John,

Sorry for the confusion. I was looking at Fig. 5 in the attached DS (older version?) that is the same as Fig. 18 in the DS on TI web.

Hi, John,

We also have the TPA2100P1 which has an EVM available, and the LM48560 which also has an EVM available.

so, if your customer would like to play around, order one of the above two EVMs for him/her.

Thanks for your suggestions. The customer likes the price of the LM48580TL. Not much we can do from a technical perspective on pricing.
