PCM2707 - is it possible to alter the HID codes returned?

I'm looking for a USB to audio solution - preferably a single chip like the CM6300 - however, I want to process 5 keys but want USB codes other than the usual audio control functions like volume up / down, back / forward etc

Is it possible to configure the PCM2707 to return other USB codes?

Unfortunately it is not possible to configure the PCM2707 to return values other than the ones specified in the datasheet.

Is there a similar product available where the HID codes can be configured? In particular I am looking for VoIP audio via USB functionality wih up to 6 buttons which can have configurable USB codes

We don't have an integrated USB audio codec that can do this. You could combine a TI DSP (one of the C5x with USB interface) and a I2S codec (for example AIC3104) and implement this in a custom firmware.
