TAS5706 Dynamic Range Specification and Improvement

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TAS5706, TAS5760MD, TAS5754M

Hi...

My customer is testing the Dynamic Range of TAS5706.

But I can not find the specification of dynamic range in the datasheet of TAS5706.

So I hope that you inform me of that.

Also my customer wants to improve the dynamic range of TAS5706.

The measurement data is 82dB and wants to improve more than 84dB.

So I hope that you inform me of advice and tip for improving of dynamic range.

Please refer to the attachment. (schematic file)

  • Hi, JaePhil,

We did not specify the dynamic range of this device, but 84 dB should definitely be achievable.

FYI, this is a very old device. We have newer better parts. Is it too late to evaluate one of our newer generation products? For example, we have TAS5760MD and TAS5754M which both have much better performance than this older device.

I have asked my colleague to review your schematic, but the issue is probably with the layout. Can you provide that to us for comment?

  • Dear Don Dapkus

    Thanks for your response.

As you told me, my customer wants to change the device of TAS5706 but could not change due to event situation.

And my customer said the dynamic range measurement data of TAS5706 EVM is 81.5dB and it is similar to the measurement data of SET.

Also we want to know what Vn(Output integrated noise, -82dBV) means on page 11 of datasheet. we think that Vn is associated with dynamic range.

Finally we provide the PCB layout of TAS5706 to you for review of layout.

I hope that you give me a lot of good comments.
