correct power hook up on TPA6120 eval module

Hi All,

This is a really simple question about correct power hook up between an HP 6227B power supply and the TPA6120A2RGY EVM.

The module wants V+ and GND as well as V- and GND.

My HP bench supply has two identical power supplies 0-20VDC. (Set to 15V)

They are labeled V+, V- and GND for each side.

There is voltage across V+ and V-, but not from either to GND.

Do I hook up V- from the supply to V- on the eval module and the same with V+, which is the only way to get voltage to the PCB?

What is done with the GND on the power supply?

If I connect it this way, the PCB will tie the V- to the V+ (goes to GND pin) of the two supply rails through the PCB GND lines, which are tied together.

  • Hi Brian,

    Welcome to e2e

I don't fully understand your situation. There is no voltage from V+ or V- to GND but there is voltage between V+ and V-?

Perhaps you could connect your supplies as follows:

I hope this helps. Please let me know if this is what you were looking for.

  • Yes. Thank you. I am using the HP power supply in tracking mode.
