Using Mini DSP to reduce white noise

Hi,

We are using AIC3254 in our design, we are trying to reduce white noise heard at the audio output using the miniDSP. We are not well versed with the filter design

Is there a reference code or application note that we can refer?

Hi, Avinash,

The programmable miniDSP supports several filters that can be used in order to improve the audio quality. PurePath Studio offers filters such biquads, equalizers and noise reduction in order to have a cleaner output signal. Please take a look at the attached documents for details.

Thanks Luis.

While i now understand the using PurePath Studio, you can configure the filter and download the firmware to the DSP.

I do not see any reference to removal of white noise.

Do you have any references to that?

Hi, Avinash,

There are no specific filter blocks for white noise removal on PurePath Studio. The only noise solutions that PurePath Studio offers are the filters with internal noise reduction.

The noise uses to be removed by external design of the codecs. Please take a look at the following wiki article for common noise issues in codecs and their solutions:
