TLV320AIC3254-EVM external I2C problem

Hello,

I am working around a TLV320AIC3254-EVM and particularly with interfacing to an external microcontoller.

I generated  header files by PurePath and then send them by I2C, but the only way to make the CODEC works is to program the EVM by PurePath once.

So I think there is some other registers to program before using the external I2C, but which ?

Thanks for your replies.

  • Sebastien,

The header file has three structure instances: one for initialization, one for miniDSP_A code and another for miniDSP_D code. There is a magic number "255" that would be used to inform the MCU to jump to another structure (i.e. from initialization to miniDSP_A or miniDSP_D code). Attached is a SystemSettingsCode that shows this a bit more clearly. You can use this in the Framework starting with PPS v4.10. The PROGRAM_ADC and PROGRAM_DAC section will translate into the header file as the magic number (0x00 corresponds to miniDSP_A and 0x01 corresponds to miniDSP_D). The rest translates in the header file as the REG section struct instance.

Other than the registers in these three structures of the header file, there are no other register writes that are required.
