TAS2555: trouble of PPC3 TAS2555YZEVM Apps.

Part Number: TAS2555
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: , PP-SALB2-EVM

Hi, Support Team

I plan to demonstrate SmartAmp to my customer with TAS2555YZEVM and PPS3.

Load 'AAC_DMSP1217P-J-01_v1_3.ppc3' file to TAS2555Apps of PPS3.
System check is OK.

But 'Tuning and Audio processing' is frozen indicating 'Updating components...' as below.

The version is below.

I am running the current Windows 10 Pro release on a 64-bit host.

I think that it is the same cause as the problem of the following link.
e2e.ti.com/.../601107
I tried the suggested content in that thread, but it did not work.

Could you please tell me why it can't operate?

Best regards,

Hiroaki Masumoto

  • Hi Masumoto-san,

These seem to be isolated cases of the software getting stuck. So far we have not been able to replicate on our side.
Is this happening every time you open PPC3 and load your config file?
As in the previous post questions, are there other applications running? Only TAS2555EVM is connected to the PC?

  • Hi Salazar-san,

    Thank you for the reply.

    > Is this happening every time you open PPC3 and load your config file?

Yes, this is happening every time.

    > As in the previous post questions, are there other applications running? Only TAS2555EVM is connected to the PC?

    Other applications are not running.
Only TAS2555EVM is connected to the PC.

I tried an older version of PPC3 (V.3.0.8) but it freezed.
I tried compatibility mode of Windows 7 & 8 but it freezed.
PPC3 loads the "tas2555_usecase_revb_hyb.cfg" file to the PC, but it seems that I2C communication to TAS2555 is not completed.

TAS2555EVM and Learning Board 2(PP-SALB2-EVM) are not connected, is this a problem?

Is there any other way to try?

    Best regards,
    -Hiroaki Masumoto

  • Hi Salazar-san,

    This trouble was solved.

The installation of PPC3 was incomplete.
I ignored the download of additional software required when installing PPC3 software.
It was caused by my company's proxy server.

I canceled the proxy server and installed PPC3 software via Wi-Fi network.

The following software was installed in addition to PPC3.

    MATLAB Compiler Runtime 7.16
TI USB Audio Device Driver v 4.13.0 (This software was installed even if you ignored the download.)

"Tuning Mode" of "Tuning and Audio Processing" was completed and I heard the sound from the TAS2555EVM's speaker.

    Thank you.

    Best regards,
    -Hiroaki Masumoto
