TPA3131D2: Single-end input

Part Number: TPA3131D2

Hi

There is following requirement in application.

- 4ohm speaker

-3W output

-7V - 15V supply range

-Mono use

We want to use TPA3131D2 with single-ended input.

1.

Could it be possible to use single channel (Right or Lift) with negative input connecting to GND?

2.

Is there any pin settings and particular configuration for single-ended input mode?

    Hi nana-san,
    Yes, TPA3131D2 works in single-ended input mode well. Please connect INN to GND through 1uF cap. One thing needs to be noted is that the pop noise during power-up or -down could be larger in single-ended input mode than differential mode. To minimize the pop noise, please use high precision caps(e.g. X5R) for the 1uF input caps. And the make sure the circuit between front-end(usually DAC or Codec) output and AMP INP is simple to minimize the imbalance between the INN and INP. There is no particular configuration on AMP for single-ended input mode.
