Dear folks,
I need aSPDIF interface and selected the 2906C.
I used the schematic that is in the datasheet.
If I understand it correctly, one simply plugs the
usb into the connector and some sort of a driver
will be installed automatically right?
I see nothing what-so-ever............
Do I need to download and install a driver for this?
Please advise,
Sincerely
peter tsai
ps: I use windows 10 on my pc.
Hi Peter,
Welcome to e2e Forum.
PCM2906C is an audio codec which does not require a specific driver as it uses the native USB audio class 1 driver from the host device. Win XP should have the native UAC1 driver available, and it should not have any issue detecting PCM2906C as USB Codec.
As far as Win 10 OS is concerned, Win10 does not install specific drivers (UAC class1) but installs standard USB audio 2.0 driver which can be causing the issue. You will have to select native UAC class1 driver and this issue will be resolved.
Thanks.
Best regards,
Ravi
