TAS5766M: output volume and Gain/Fsw relation

Part Number: TAS5766M

Hello expert,

Customer want to reduce power consumption in NB S0 state so we recommend they to change Gain/Fsw from 20k/100kohm to 51k/51kohm to set Fsw to lower frequency(768kHz to 384kHz) to limit power consumption.Power consumption really decreases but they found output volume will be decreased, result is shown below. May I know what is the relation between output volume and Gain/Fsw setting? Is that normal operation that output volume will decrease when we lower Fsw for power stage? Thanks a lot!

Best regards,

Ann Lien

  • Hi Ann,

Gain/Fsw pin might have a chance to change Analog gain between 20dB and 14dB. However, 51k/51k should have the same analog gain setting with default 100k/20k. So it does not make sense with this attenuation without any SmartAmp modification.

It's suggested using PPC3 to checking with system gain calibration to make sure whole signal gain is the same with these two configurations. Then debug whether it is caused by SmartAmp script. Just bypassing all processing to check 1kHz input output level.

    Regards,
