TLV320ADC6140:

Part Number: TLV320ADC6140
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADC12010

Hi,

Which one is the TLV320ADC6140 INxM analog input voltage range?

a)-0.3V ~ AVDD+0.3)V max ( same as INxP)
b)-(AVDD+0.3)V ~ +0.3V max (It is possible to input negative voltage to INxM?)

・Could you provied the following figure about the TLV320ADC6140?

e.g. ADC12010 datasheet Page.9

Best Regards,

  • Hello,

The answer is A, which is verified in the abs max ratings table (7.1) which shows all analog inputs can accept from -0.3V to (AVDD+0.3V).

I don't have a simple figure like the one you're referencing from the ADC12010 datasheet, but as mentioned in the other post: The full-scale input voltage is 2Vrms which equals roughly 5.657Vpp, or +/-2.828V

Therefore the transfer function (output code vs. (INxP - INxM)) is effectively the same except replace the negative and positive full-scale values on the x-axis with -2.828V and +2.828V (roughly) where the figure currently shows -VREF and +VREF.  Also the data is binary two's complement so positive full-scale is 7FFFFF and negative full-scale is 800000.

  • Hi Wells-san,

The customer understood about the input voltage range of the TLV320ADC6140.

Regarding the output data code of the TLV320ADC6140, your explained as follows,
"Also the data is binary two's complement so positive full-scale is 7FFFFF and negative full-scale is 800000."
So, can the customer understand as follows,

    Thank you.

    Best Regards,

    Koshi Ninomiya

  • Hello Ninomiya-san,

Thank you for the image!  That's the correct transfer function for the TLV320ADC6140.
