TAS2563: Does TAS2563 Consumes VBAT in Boost Bypass Mode With Inductor Installed?

With boost bypass mode and inductor installed, we found the TAS2563 keeps sending output signal from VBAT when PVDD is not presented. Is it a normal behavior? Is there internal connection between SW and VBST in boost bypass mode?

Hi Wayne,

VBAT is still used to supply some sections of the device, regardless if using internal boost or not.

Hello Ivan,

We can still listen to music when programming the TAS2563 to boost bypass mode with VBAT on and PVDD off. We can see the TAS2563 drains power from VBAT at this moment. Is it in line with our component design?

Hi Wayne,

Yes, this behavior is expected.

If the device is enabled, even in boost disabled mode and PVDD not powered, the output stage will run from VBAT voltage.
