LMK05318EVM: problem in vco1 calibration and pll1 lock detected(lol*)

I used the plate-crystal calibration as the main clock, and both the formula and the central frequency of vco1 met the requirements of entering freerun mode. However, when the state of the led light was adjusted to pll1 vco calibration active, it did not light up. Even if manually adjusted by pll1powerdown, the led light representing pll1 vco calibration active only flicker once.However, when I cascade apll2 xo, the light from the pll2 vco calibration active is turned on, and when I cascade apll2 to apll1, the light from the pll2 vco calibration active is also turned off.

In addition, after I connected the reference, DPLL and apll1 cascade were used. When the led light indication was the default, the DPLL lock requirement could be met, and the led light was turned back to indicate pll1 vco calibration active and pll1 lock detected (lol*), they still not on,base on the miniature below ,the pll1 vco calibraiton and pll1 lock detected are the first and second steps but they don't work,what do these phenomena mean?

    Did you design your own LMK05318 EVM? Or just test TI's LMK05318EVM?

    If you has a new LMK05318 design, please share the schematic. We can check it for you.

    Let us know your input clock frequency, local XO frequency, and output frequencies.

    Then LMK05318 need a correct register settings, refer to the attachment guide.

    You can use GUI TICS Pro to generate ans save the register settings. The .tcs file could be shared for check.

    Normally, in debugging, we will read status registers, as TICS Pro Status page showed.

    Pin control LED light or dim still depends on register setting and the diode's direction towards VDD. I can't tell what's meaning in your design.

    One point to clarified:

    pll1 vco calibration active: only assertion when PLL1 VCO calibrations is running. After calibration is done, the assertion status would be removed.

    thanks for your reply,I just test TI's EVM.I want to let the output wave have the same frequency and phase with my reference input.
    I use 10MHz single-ended square waveform as reference into priref_P and make the priref_N conncet to groud.The xo I use is the crystal oscillations on EVM plate.However,when I make the LED to state the pll lock detected(lol*),it never light up.And the output waveform does not have the same phase with the reference put though LED show dpll frequency lock and phase lock.

    When loss of reference, their phase difference begin to change, even if I give a big tuning history word time.

    Here is my tcs program with txt format.

    1, "read status" to show the LMK05318 status, capture that screen. Make sure LMK05318 PLLs in lock.

    2, "The OUT7 channel has an optional zero-delay mode (ZDM) synchronization feature to support deterministic input-to-output phase alignment"

    But current OUT7 is 156.25 MHz, which is not multiple of reference 10 MHz. You can's find deterministic input-to-output phase alignment.

    Other output channels do not support ZDM.

    3, In "Start Page", enable "DPLL_ZDM_SYNC_EN" and tuning offset to get what your needed phase. (almost in the bottom of that page in TICS Pro)

    However,when I read status,it is like the below picture,I don't use apll2 so the lol_pll2 have a check,but what about the check lossed in INTR Sticky status?Does it mean something wrong?

    In addition, do you mean only ZDM mode can make the output waveform phase synchornaziton with the ref?

    See the left side "INTR Source Live Status" and "Other Status Registers", the status looks good. LMK05318 had locked.
    When ZDM is enabled, OUT7 can have a deterministic phase relationship with the reference when they have multiple relationship.

    If the reference is lost, LM05318 would enter holdover mode, the frequency stability depend on on board oscillator. When the ref loss happened, output phase jump in the transient could be controlled less than +/- 100 ps (depends on configuration). After that, output clock would drift with on board oscillator.
