CDCI6214EVM: TICS Pro: Wizard not work

Part Number: CDCI6214EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CDCI6214, CDCE6214-Q1

Hello,

What should I do to get the CDCI6214 Wizard to work?

About TICS Pro:
- Version: 1.6.10.0 (25-Nov-2019)
- Build Date: 20-Jul-19
- Part Version: 2018-03-28

Even if the Wizard is executed, the settings are not reflected in the Block Diagram.
I see a Python Error in LOG, but I don't know what it can solve.
What is the solution to get it working properly?

Best Regards,

Kaede Kudo

  • Hi Kaede,

The python file for the Wizard page was missed during the previous Ticspro update. For now please use the attached profile (older version): 8130.CDCI6214.zip

In the tool bar, go to "select device" -> "import user device" then select the zip file. Then go to "select device" -> "User devices" -> "CDCI6214".

We'll fix this before the next Ticspro update.

    Regards,
    Hao

  • Hello Hao,

    Thank you for your reply.

I tried the contents of your answer, but I get the following error.

    - Error in Accessing Device INI file
The below file cannot be found ...

    Do you know the Course?

    I have one more question.
Why is CDCI6214 FOD removed in the latest TICS Pro?

    Best Regards,

    Kaede Kudo

  • Hi Kaede,

I just tried again and it worked for me. I'm attaching the file again: 0647.CDCI6214.zip

    If it still doesn't work, go to C:\ProgramData\Texas Instruments\TICS Pro\Configurations\Devices\Clock Generator-Jitter Cleaner (Single Loop)\CDCI6214

Then delete original files and manually copy over the files from zip folder.

Yes FOD was removed in the newer version because we are de-featuring FOD. We've received and verified reports of failure that sometime at certain frequencies the FOD output is inaccurate. We are in the process of datasheet revision. CDCI6214 should be considered as an integer device only. For fractional division, use CDCE6214-Q1 instead. The two are pin compatible.

    Regards,

    Hao

  • Hi Hao,

I'm sorry for my late reply.

Thank you. Your advice solved the problem.

I understood that CDCI6214 should only use Integer Divider.
    CDCE6214-Q1 is a Fractional-N PLL device.

I am waiting for a datasheet update.

    Best Regards,
