I have a 2594 EVM and the TICS Pro control board that loads the registers and it is working fine. I am considering a custom design with an LMX2582. Here are my questions:

1) Can I use the TICS Pro software with the same connector interface to program a custom design with LMX2582?

2) If answer to first question is yes, can I disconnect the serial connector that would be on my custom design and the registers and operation would stay functional?

3) What is the recommended way to load registers on a custom design that uses the LMX2582?

    Hi Peter,

    1. Yes

    2. Yes. Make sure your board has the CE pin of the LMX2582 tied to Vcc so that if you take the serial connector out, LMX2582 will not power down. 

    3. if your board has a MCU, you can use it to program LMX2582. If not, then add a serial connector on your board and use USB2ANY (or Reference PRO that came with the LMX2594 EVM) + TICS Pro to program LMX2582.
