LMK04828BEVM: LMK04828BEVM with external clock setting with 60Mhz

Part Number: LMK04828BEVM

dear Ti team,

i am using the LMK eval board- LMK04828BEVM which is working fine with internal clock 122.88Mhz, but my requirement is need to provided an external clock of 60Mhz as in put to the LMK and generate 800Mhz and 100Mhz as two different outputs of LMKEVM

i had tried feeding the 60Mhz( 2dBm input power) to FBCLKin*/CLKin1* port on the board , but i am notable to generate the required output

can you help in suggestion the how can i connect external clock of 60Mhz and generate the 800Mhz and 100Mhz outputs

with regards

pradeep

  • Hi Pradeep,
Can you share you configuration (.tcs) file?
When using the EVM, I believe device is still using OSCin VCXO as reference which is 122.88 MHz which explains why when using internal clock you don't have issue.

PLL2 is connected to clock distribution path which means you must use OSCin as input. Given you're trying this on EVM this entails having to rework board to disconnect onboard VCXO. EVM schematic I attached is found on page 41 of EVM user guide.

Terminations for input are found starting on page 103 of DS.

  • dear Vicente ,

    Thanks for the suggestion,

i had updated the Eval board HW changes to osc_in as external clock 60Mhz, physically isolated the internal oscillator now i am able generate the 800Mhz and 100Mhz with PLL2 configuration

    with regards
