LM555QML: LM555H/883

Part Number: LM555QML
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SE555, SE555M

What testing/screening/inspections is done to the LM555H/883?  I am looking at replacing the M38510/10901BGA  with this part but need to determine if there are differences that we need to analyze.   When NS/TI stopped making the M38510/10901BGA , was there a notice issued with recommendations to customers that can be obtained?  Thank you.

  • Hi Ed,

All processing, screening, and Quality Conformance Inspection (QCI) of QML Class Q products is performed to Level B in compliance with the test methods of MIL-STD-883. As the LM555H/883 is a class Q device, you may refer to the MIL-STD-883 for more information.

The following document: Testing and Inspection of QML Class Q Ceramic Devices includes an example of class Q process flow.

I can't seem to find any information on M38510/10901BGA, are you referring to M38510/10901BPA? M38510/10901BPA is an SE555M timer which is also a class Q device. The LM555QML is listed as a direct replacement for SE555.

    Regards,

    Zach
