UCC25600: Similar Device Functionality

Part Number: UCC25600
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCC25660

Tool/software:

I am designing a resonant LLC converter. I plan to operate this converter at a constant 1.4MHz, and the UCC25600 is almost logically what I need. I need to be able to pin-program a frequency, pin-program a dead time, and have a high side and a low side output. Is there any timing device that just does these things?

  • Hi Paul,

An LLC will vary its frequency as a function of load. Also, our UCC25600 has a maximum resonant frequency of 350kHz. Our fastest LLC is the UCC25660.

What is the power level you are trying to support and what are the input and output voltages? This may help me to recommend a more suitable fixed frequency controller.

  • I am trying to implement a converter based on this research paper for a school project, https://ieeexplore.ieee.org/document/8737978 . I am trying to use the same specs as the implementation section, 36VDC to 12VDC, max output 36W. The converter presented operates at a constant frequency for all loads. The paper uses a microcontroller to create the gate driver signals, so I was thinking if I could just use a dummy device with similar performance.

  • Hi Paul,

There might be something better from our low to medium voltage DC/DC team.

From the high-voltage controllers, as mentioned above, our fastest LLC is the UCC25660 this can resonate up to 750kHz. Another option could be our UCC28950 which is a phase-shifted full-bridge.

For a digital approach, this can be tackled with our UCD3138. For the FET's we have a new low-voltage GaN the LMG3100 which can switch up to 10Mhz!

I hope this helps get your started.

  • This looks like a good start, thanks!
