CDCVF25081: Allowable operating junction temperature

Part Number: CDCVF25081

Can you please tell me what the allowable operating junction temperature is for CDCVF25081PW.

thanks

Judy Schwartz

  • Hi Judy,

I wasn't able to find a definitive max junction temperature for this device. However since it is rated for an ambient operating temperature of up to 85C, we can use the device current shown in figure 9-2 and the junction-to-ambient thermal resistance of 109.9C/W to estimate that the worst-case junction temperature would be (160mA * 3.6V * 109.9C/W) + 85C  = 148.36C. Considering the storage temperature is rated up to 150C, I think this seems reasonable to use as the max allowed junction temperature. Let me know if you have any other questions on this.

    Regards,

    Connor

  • Is this an absolute max junction temperature or an allowable operational junction temperature.

    Thanks

  • Hi Judy,

You can consider 150C as the absolute max junction temperature, and 125C as the max operational junction temperature for additional margin. This matches the same specifications as similar devices that use the same process node.
