LMK00306 - Total Current Consumption

Hi Team,

Please let me ask you how to calculate the total current consumption (MAX) of LMK00306.
I am looking/reading the datasheet, page. 7 and page 25-26.

I am confused reading the description in page 25-26.

Below are the condition how our customer use LMK00306.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
- VCC is 3.3V
- VCCOA / VCCOB is 2.5V
- Input from CLKin0 and CLKin1 (CLKin selection)
- CLKoutAx : All 3 channel of Bank A are used in LVDS
- CLKoutBx : All 3 channel of Bank B are used in LVDS
- REFout : not used
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have calculated the current consumption as follow, am I correct ?

ICC(MAX) = ICC_CORE(MAX) + ICC_LVDS(MAX) x 2 = 10.5 + 29.5 + 29.5 = 69.5mA

ICCO(MAX) = ICCO_LVDS(MAX) x 2 = 27.5 + 27.5 = 55mA
* I think ICCO_LVDS is the current consumption at VCCO=3.3V. But I believe current consumption at VCCO=2.5V should be lower than this value.

  • The ICCO value for LVDS does not change significantly between 2.5V and 3.3V conditions, so the same TYP/MAX specs are applicable to both supply conditions.  This is also true to LVPECL and HCSL modes.  Only LVCMOS buffer has a slight difference in ICCO specs (2 mA) between 2.5V and 3.3V conditions.

So, you calculated both ICC(MAX) and ICCO(MAX) correctly.

    P_TOTAL(MAX) = ICC(MAX) x VCC(MAX) + ICCO(MAX) x VCCO(MAX) = 69.5 x 3.465 + 55 x 2.625 = 385 mW
