I want to make a laser distance measurement device by measuring the time of flight of laser pulses. I looked at the TDC7200 but it only performs measurements at Max. 170kHz.... and I want it to perform approx 1 million distance measurements per second. I came across THS788, which offers quad channels and works at ~200 kHz. Does this mean I can use each channel as a seperate lidar? Basically I would have 4 laser radars, but all four would be sending the light pulses to a common THA788 chip for timing measurement. That way, I was thinking I could get 200 kHz x 4 = 0.8 MHz update rate. Would that be possible?
