Can you clarify something in the data sheets for CDCLVD1208, CDCLVD1212, CDCLVD1216 for me?
The data sheet specs for part to part skew, propagation delay typ and max do not seem to be in agreement.
The data sheet (Jan 2011 version) includes a TPD TYP = 1.5ns and MAX =2.5ns -> that's 1.5ns + 1000ps.
The spec also shows part-to-part variation of 600ps - is that +/-300ps?
Should the data sheet read tpd = 2.2 ns +/-300ps? 1.9ns +/-600ps?
Is the “typ” correct?
Is the skew correct?
Is there some margin built into these values that is not otherwise obvious?
Thanks much for the help,
Jake
Hi Jake,
P2P skew is really specified for the devices to have the same Vcc and temperature. Both vary from 2.375V to 2.625V and -40C to 85C but there is no variation on these parameters between devices. That is why this number is lower than the max propagation delay.
