TPL5010: Interval time resistor with digital potentiometer

We are going to use the digital potentiometer(TPL0401) for the interval time resistor as following configuration.

Because our customer would like to set the resistor value with I2C interface.

Is this configuration possible?

I think so.

When the device is powered up, the device takes a typical time of t_Rext ~ 100 ms to read this resistor. This doesn't seem like very high frequency so I would not expect there to be any concerns with any parasitic inductances or capacitances due to the switch.
