CDC516: What does zero-delay buffer mean?

Part Number: CDC516
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CDCVF2510A,

Hello, I wonder what zero-delay buffer means.

When data is transmitted, always small delay occurs. Is there any relationship between PLL and zero-delay buffer?

Thank you.

  • Hello,

The Zero-Delay buffer has an integrated PLL with a feedback loop for delay compensation.

CDC516 is not recommended for new designs. CDCVF2510A can be used as a replacement device. CDCVF2510A has FBOUT / FBIN pins to synchronize the output clock to the input.

    Kind regards,
    Lane
