LMK04828BEVM: DEVICE CLOCK and SYS REF PHASE

Part Number: LMK04828BEVM

Hi,

We have a custom board with LMK LMK04828B .Device clock and SYSREF clock is generated with different frequencies. Both the clocks have phase difference.

I am using TICS pro software to program LMK.

How to correct this phase error?

  • Hello Sandeep,

If necessary, can you share your programming?

Are you saying that if you look at device clock and SYSREF on scope and trigger on the SYSREF, you don't see two nice looking waveforms?

    Try this:
    - #1, be sure that device clock freq / sysref freq = integer number.

    - #2, the SYNC/SYSREF paths are shared. So it is important to disable SYNC otherwise the SYSREF will reset the device clock dividers and the SYSREF divider. I call this syncing yourself in the foot.
    > Pressing the SYNC Dividers button on the top or on the SYNC/SYSREF page will leave the SYNC_DISSYSREF & SYNC_DISx = 1, meaning SYNC is disabled. Or you can control these SYNC_DIS* bits from the SYNC/SYSREF page on the right hand side or on the OUTPUTS page in the green divider boxes.

    Hope these tips help.
