LMK00308: can we use LMK00308 and LMK00338 as clock buffer and redriver?

Part Number: LMK00308
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMK00338,

Hi, All,

Could you tell me below?

can we use LMK00308 and LMK00338 as clock buffer and redriver?

could you tell me what are those meaning between clock buffer and redriver?

As PCIe redriver, we've promoted below

LMK00338

http://www.ti.com/product/LMK00338

as PCIe clock buffer , we've promoted below

LMK00308

https://www.ti.com/product/LMK00308

LMK00338

https://www.ti.com/product/LMK00338

since those different are jitter and clock frequency (400Mhz) and different type of Output.

beside of above, can customer use both of devices as clock buffer and redriver?

and tell us what's different between clock buffer and redriver ?

  • Hi Takahashi-san,

I think clock redrivier and clock buffer are referring to the same thing, different people use different term.

You can promote both products to PCIe clock buffer/redriver application.

Since PCIe clock is just 100MHz, LMK00338's jitter performance is good enough.
