TPL5110: TLP5110 Rising-edge Triggered Possible?

I need to used a pulsed input to trigger the timer. But unfortunately the pulse timing is such that the timer won't latch.

Instead it cycles the DRVN pin rapidly. But strangely it only does this when there's a load connected. Strangely the device latches

normally with no load connected.

Can you explant this behaviour, or advise if there's a way to trigger the TPL5110 on an initial rising edge?

  • I can't understand the issue. Perhaps you can share the schematic and some measurement results to help explain it.

    It seems that you are using the device in timer mode rather than one-shot mode. In one-shot mode, you can trigger another output pulse using DELAY/M_DRV as described in datasheet section 7.5.2 (see Figure 12)
