ADS125H02: Question

Part Number: ADS125H02

Hi Brian-san

sorry. I forgot to translate it into English.

Please tell us a little more about ADS125H02.

Data sheet page 70: Typical Applications recommend the use of Zener diodes as a workaround for overvoltage protection.

What kind of diode should I use?

Thank you.

  • Hi Yamamo-san,

The supplies often need to be protected in PLC systems where there is a chance that the end user might mis-wire the I/O connections (since analog inputs have diode connections with the supply, the supply might need to be clamped to prevent damage when back powered by the analog inputs). However, if there is no concern of exceeding the Absolute Maximum Operating Conditions of the ADS125H02 supplies (or other devices connected to this supply) then this diode is not necessary.

Is this a concern for your system?
