Hello,

I would like you to confirm whether user can use DAC8811EVM under windows 10.

According to following user's guide, you mention only windows XP for OS.

So, could you please confirm whether user can use DAC8811EVM under windows 10 ?

(If possible, please show version or build num (Ex. windows 10 ver xxxx, OS build xxxx)

Hi Machida-san,

The DAC8811EVM does not work natively in Windows 10. New versions of Windows require that drivers be digitally signed, which the MMB0 is not. There is a partial work-around that requires the PC to be reset into safe mode, but that is not allowed by all companies IT policies.

I would not recommend this EVM for Windows 10. There is a specific work around that might let it work, but it requires changing some settings in Windows and rebooting in Safe Mode.

Hello Paul-san,

I understood that you do not recommend this EVM under Win 10. I need to confirm procedure in case user can accept to use safe mode(test mode).

Do you have install procedure such as shown following E2E for MMB0 ?

The steps shown are the same for this device, though I think this is not the simplest way to evaluate the device. Even with these steps, some customers have not been able to get the software running correctly.

The DAC8811EVM hardware can still be used with some external SPI/I2C generator, such as MSP430 Launchpad or Aardvark controller. It may be easier for your customer to generate the SPI signals to communicate with the device rather than these steps.
