I think that your control byte is incomplete. It appears that for all of the captures you shared PD0=PD1=0

Yes. We are trying all A2,A1,A0 vector combination with PD0, PD1 = 0, 0 to enable the #PENIRQ but failed.

Could you recommend a initialization procedure to enable #PENIRQ driven low when the screen touched ?

Also Page 16 of the datasheet also explains the function of PENIRQ very well.

From the two resources above. I think what you need to do is to set PD1 bit = 1 to enable the reference voltages on the screen. from D/S page 16. the PENIRQ should always be available if X,Y voltage references are enabled.

#PENIRQ still could not be driven low when the screen touched.

Could you please help me in sharing more instruction in enabling #PENIRQ being driven low when the screen touched ?

With your instruction we conducted the following test cases with A2A1A0=[001,011,100,101], PD1PD0=[10] in initializing TSC2046 to enable #PENIRQ to be driven low when the screen touched.

#PENIRQ is still not driven low after the initialization when the screen touched.

Could you please share more instruction for me to check in enabling the #PENIRQ driven low when the screen touched ?

Hi Liu, Jacob,

Apologize for the delay here. I have an EVM for this device but no screen module to go with it. So I am not able to test this on an EVM.

Assuming the schematic is correct and the device is not damaged it should only be a matter of using the correct control byte. 

I briefly checked the schematic and nothing seemed out of the ordinary. I will read the relevant sections of the data sheet and give my suggestions
