Hi all I trie to use the DAC7718. I have the problem to communicate with the chip. I have followed the startup sequence except for the LDAC and RSTSEL pin. In the datasheet was given that they have to pulled high. I have pulled them directly low because I want to use asynchronous mode and there was given that LDAC is set low at power-up and RSTSEL is also directly tied to low because I want to use straigh binary format. Does that makes a problem? Because the chip is doing nothing and I checked the SPI Bus via a logic analyzer and everything is fine, but the DAC doesn't want to response.
Best Wishes
Jonas
Hi Jonas,
Just to double check, you have RSTSEL tied low, but what is the voltage on the RST pin? There shouldn't be a problem with tying LDAC and RSTSEL low. Are you setting the
Can you share your schematic so I can verify the supplies and references, and share a screenshot of the SPI write sequence so I can verify the timings? What is the voltage on the WAKEUP, CLR, USB/BTC pins?
Can you let me know what settings you are writing to the registers to bring up the DAC?
Best,
Katlynne Jones
Hi Katlynne,
thanks for your awnser. I was able to solve all my problems and the chip is working fine.
