ADS1282: No ADC Digital Output

Part Number: ADS1282

I am unable to get digital data from an ADS1282 ADC.

(CH1: SCLK, CH2: DIN, CH3: DRDY, CH4: DOUT)

I have made sure that PWDN and RESET pins are high. The DRDY output is constantly high.

The ADC ignores the serial clock, and the RDATA command.

A schematic of the ADS1282 is attached. KIRT_G.pdf

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get data out of the ADS1282?

Thanks,

Allan

  • Hello Allan,

Have you followed the configuration steps in the datasheet? I would also confirm the PWDN and RESET pins are in the states you expect.

If you've successfully powered the device and got it out of standby mode and clocking the ADC for a conversion to complete, then the nDRDY signal should be low, not high.

I'm sure that it wasn't your intention but the screenshot you provided looks like you provided a WAKEUP command, not a RDATA command as you've claimed. I would be interested to see a screenshot of that if you have it.

    Best,

  • Hi Cole,

I forgot to add a oscillator to pin 1.

    Thanks,
