AFE4404EVM: How to use accelerometer sensor BMA280 with AFE4404EVM?

I need to acquire and save accelerometer sensor data using AFE4404EVM.

Following the user guide, I have soldered the accelerometer (BMA280) and capacitors C1, C2 on the Sensor Board. But in order to be able to collect acceleration data and save it, it seems that the firmware and GUI need to be redeveloped. This may require the source code of the main control chip MSP430F5529 and the source code of the GUI? How to get it please? Or is there any other way to achieve my needs?

Hi Ao,

We're having trouble understanding the exact issue that you have. Are you looking to get accelerometer data by soldering the BMA280 to the AFE4404 EVM and then read that data from the AFE4404EVM GUI?

Hello Ao,

The source code for the MSP firmware is available on the AFE4404EVM page. Unfortunately, we don't have any code or extensibility in the code for adding accelerometer functionality to the GUI, as the GUI does not have the I2C functionality needed to read the BMA280. The BMA280 is included on the EVM more as a placeholder and hasn't gone through thorough testing.

To read from the BMA280, you'd have to modify the MSP firmware that's included online and not use the AFE4404EVM GUI software.
