AFE4403EVM: GUI tutorial

please let me know, can the arduino library for AFE4400 or AFE4490 can be used for AFE 4403 for the SPI communication between Arduino uno and AFE4403?

and one more thing, Is there any way to just power up the AFE4403 chip on EVM board and not the MCU of of AFE4403 EVM?

the reason is that I just want to use the AFE4403 chip for the SPI communication with arduino directly and don't want to use the internal MCU of EVM.

Not knowing how exactly the pins and the communication protocol you will be using, but you may please take a look of EVM user guide -

5.3 Accessing AFE4403 Digital Signals

to remove the resistors associated with the digital communication pins to AFE. And, customer need to use jumper wires to connect between customer's MCU pins and the nodes/pads that are common/connected to the AFE's digital communication pins(i.e. the resistors sites removed).

So it seems that I have to remove the resistors.

Please let me know, Will I be able to reconfigure the TIA gain and LED currents (after removing the resistors) by external MCU borad coding?

Hi,

May I ask whether you already used the EVM with GUI to understand the AFE and EVM sufficiently to do some of your evaluation or tests?

If you have and will have only one EVM, it's suggested to do and get familiar with above first before moving on to other external system or master/host.

LED current range and drive current and TIA gain resisters are configurable/set by writing values into the AFE registers.

Please check your arduino board and library and refer to the AFE4403 datasheet section 7.1~7.3, 7.6 and 7.7, if those requirement can be met, then the arduino should be able to work with the AFE4403.

Yes, I am evaluating the EVM and after that I will go to for the external MCU.

In my GUI version 2.2, I am have this error when I tried to Launch Macro window from Script option.

In the other red block, the filter option in missing. Is this okay?
