Hi team,
What is the EVM and GUI for ADC122S021 (8-pin VSSOP with body size of 3mm x 3mm)?
In ADC122S021's product folder, ADC124S101EVM is included and in the description of the board, ADC122S021 is included in the supported devices.
However, the EVM board populates ADC124S101, which is in 10-pin VSSOP with body size of 3mm x 3mm, which can't be used to place ADC122S021 (8-pin VSSOP with body size of 3mm x 3mm).
Can you please advise if there is any EVM board can be used to evaluate ADC122S021? Thanks.
Hi Py,
The ADC124S101EVM will accommodate the ADC122S021 device - they are both pin2pin compatible when viewed from the pin 1 perspective of the devices. The ADC122S021 maps to the ADC124S101 pins 1-4 and 7-10. Only the channel number changes which should not be an issue in the end.
Hi Tom,
However, ADC122S021 and ADC124S101 have the same package height, but different number of pins on the side, 4 pins vs 5 pins, and therefore different pitches. As shown below, it's probably impossible to use the same footprint.
I have tried to match the pins and land pattern - looks impossible.
Hi Py,
Sorry for the confusion, I see that it's the same package prefix but the two parts have a different pin pitch. We do not have an EVM specifically for the 2 channel device. The 4 CH device works the same way though, so can you use that for your evaluation?
Hi Tom,
Thanks for your confirmation. Probably you would like to remove "ADC124S101EVM" from ADC122S021's product folder and also remove ADC122S021 family from device support description in ADC124S101EVM's product folder description.
Additionally, do you have below EVM? This is being mentioned in "Evaluation Board User's Guide 12, 10 and 8-Bit A-to-D Converters with Input Mux" document.
