Hell Team,

Posting on behalf of my customer:

After replacing the ftdi245 usb chip, the board is not detected by the program AFE5812EVM GUI. The board in the system is defined as a normal com port.
How to return the board to proper operation?

The computer detects the COM port connection correctly. Connecting an oscilloscope to the ftdi chip without grounding led to the failure of the chip. The splitter of the electrical network was faulty...

I'm sorry, could you please elaborate on the issue. Am I missing some history about this topic.

Does the customer wants to get the replacement of the board?

Hi Renan,

I think I got the issue.

A new FTDI chip will need to be programmed in order for it to detect the EVM.

Please allow me some time to get the config file for the same. Could you please send me an email over abhishek.vishwa27@ti.com.

I will share the file as well as instructions to program the same onto the FTDI.

I could not get. I flashed ftdi with both configuration files, but the AFE5812 GUI does not see the usb adapter.

If I flash ftdi as afe5809evm and run AFE5809 GUI then everything works fine.

Hi Renan,

Are the programming the flash correctly?

They can check by removing the USB once they program the FTDI and the again connect the usb back and check if FT_Prog automatically detects the chips?

Also, if after doing the above, it is still does not work, then,,it may be some driver or firmware related issue, the customer can try following the below E2E:

AFE5812: AFE5812 and AFE5809 - Sensors forum - Sensors - TI E2E support forums

Note that they can install AFE5809 GUI and try the same. AFE5809 GUI will work with AFE5812 as well.

It didn't work out to launch AFE8912 GUI. I stopped at the variant with AFE8909 GUI.

Can I get the Labview source codes for AFE8912EVM GUI to try to understand the cause of the malfunction AFE8912EVM with AFE8912EVM GUI?

Hi Renan,

The 2 config files are the source code for EVM connection. There is nothing special between the AFE5809 vs AFE5812 GUI. We usually use AFE5809 board to do the debugs related to AFE5809, AFE5812, AFE5811 etc. Only change that happens is the name in the FTDI file to connect to the firmware. That's all.

Only thing I can think of is that customer can try the same on a new PC with installing all the GUIs again and programming the FTDI with the config files I sent earlier.

Or else, can we have a call with the customer and try to do the debug on their system?
