Hi,
Can you please confirm the MSL level for this PN#MSC1210Y5PAGT?
My customer received the parts with 2 different MSL which is 3 and 4.
In fact, the MSL 4 was indicated for this part in TI's website.
The date codes for the MSL 3 should be 1938+5, 1825+5 and 1926.
Also, if the wrong MSL level packaging will affect the quality of parts?
Please review adn advise.
Thanks.
Hi Kent,
The MSC1210 was qualified for MSL4 and not MSL3, so when the devices were dry packed our assembly and test site inadvertently marked the package as MSL3. The MSL ratings are a standard device rating for a particular relative humidity and temperature for devices removed from the packaging.
The packages once outside of the dry packing will start to absorb moisture. If the MSL rating is exceeded, then it is possible that excessive moisture can cause an issue when the devices are put through a reflow cycle which could result in the devices being damaged if the devices have not been placed into an additional bake process first. See additional information relating to MSL in MSL Ratings and Reflow Profiles.
Best regards,
Bob B
