ADS1261: Evaluation Module - SPI - Raspberry Pi for data readout

Part Number: ADS1261

Dear Bryan,

i have established a connection of the Evaluation Module ADS1261 and a Raspberry Pi.

The following is my script:

I am only receiving  0x0 as an answer. Anything which i am obviously doing wrong?

Do you have an example script which i can use as a template to modify for my needs?

Best regards,

Marcel

  • Hi Marcel Beck,

There is ADS1261 example code on the ADS1261 product folder: https://www.ti.com/product/ADS1261#software-development. I have included an image of this below as well

This code is not explicitly for Raspberry Pi, but you can modify the code for your own purposes. Or, at least you can get an idea of the proper software flow and steps required to talk to and receive data from the ADC.

A good way to diagnose ADC digital communication issues is with a logic analyzer (LA) as opposed to trying to dig through the code. Reviewing the communication using the LA will help you understand if the code is sending the correct commands to the ADC, as well as that the ADC is responding with the correct commands. You can also verify timing, which would not be possible just looking at the code. This is how I would troubleshoot your board

If you can send LA waveforms we can review, please include all communication signals (CS, SCLK, START, RESET, DOUT, DIN, DRDY)
