Hello,

Hi Valerio,
Were you able to get them working independently - 'external trigger capture' and 'averaging multiple time domain measurements'?
Thanks,
Karthik
Hello Karthik,
Thank you for your answer. Yes, I was able to make them work independently and both seem to work properly. However, I cannot check the case for trigger rearming (the field remains dark), which I immagine is necessary for multiple acquisition.
Best,
Valerio
Hi Valerio,
Understood. I will check and get back.
A few questions in the meantime - how many averages do you want to do? If it is not a lot and you are only planning to do one time, you can record the files as detailed here (https://e2e.ti.com/support/data-converters-group/data-converters/f/data-converters-forum/1032355/tsw1400evm-hsdcpro-continuous-data-capture-to-data-file) average and then reload the averaged file to view the averaged data and resulting FFT.
Thanks,
Karthik
Hi Karthik,
Thank you for your answer. Unfortunately the S/N ratio in my signal can be quite high sometimes but already did how you suggested in some cases. However, I had to perform the spectral analysis in Octave, since I did not succeed to select only a part of the temporal signal in HSCDpro, that is what I need to do. I tried to use the analysys-window cursors in the time domain but it seems to have no effect on the FFT. Is there a way to do so on HSDCpro?
Valerio
Hi Valerio,
I suppose what you are asking for is a dynamic short-time Fourier Transform.
Unfortunately, that is not supported in HSDC Pro. You will have to rely on post-processing in Matlab, Octave, or Python.
Thanks,
Karthik N
Hi Valerio,
I tried this in the lab. Unfortunately, averaging with trigger is not supported by HSDC Pro.
Also, since the software support is limited on this tool, we won't be able to support it in the future either. Sorry about that.
Thanks,
Karthik N
