AFE58JD48: in CW mode, how to enable/disable individual channels

Part Number: AFE58JD48

Hi Sir,

below is the diagram of CW mode circuit of one AFE58JD48 chip, each AFE58JD48 chip has 16 channels, the CW mode signal of the 16 channels are summed by the summing amplifier at the right hand side of the figure

there are 128 channels in my design, so I am using 8 AFE58JD48 chips, the CW mode signal of all the 128 channels are summed by the same summing amplifier.
My questions is, for different ultrasound probes, I have different TX/RX channels settings, for example, for one probe I may want to set channel#1~64 as TX channels, while channel#65~128 as RX channels. and for the other probe maybe channel#1~32 as TX channel and channel#33~64 as RX channel.
Since signal of all the channels are summed by the summing amplifier, so for the TX channels, I need to disable CW signal of these channel preventing their CW mode signal(which is strong TX signal) to be summed by the summing amplifier.
However, I was not able to find relative register settings for this, and what I can think about is :
  • disable the clock input of AFE58JD48(ADC_CLKP/ADC_CLKN pins)
  • disable the clock input of CW clocks (CLKP_1X/CLKM_1X and CLKP_16X/CLKM_16X pins)
or is there other way to achieve this ?
I want to make sure noise on the TX channels does not summed into the summing amplifier, thanks.
  • You can powerdown LNA by writing pdn_lna bit .This will powerdown all channel LNA in that AFE. If you need channel control you can use PDN_CHx register.

Or you can be in the TGC mode for those AFE (CW_TGC_SEL).
