DAC63204EVM: Smart-DAC-EVM-GUI not launching

Hello, 

Are both of these dll files present in your installation directory?

What version of NI runtime engine did you install? This GUI expects 209 SP1 f3 (32-bit)

The NI runtime engine should have been installed with the installer. Are there any firewalls enabled on your PC that could be blocking the full installation? 

Finally, could you check the solution posted by the user in this thread to see if this fixes the issue? https://e2e.ti.com/support/data-converters-group/data-converters/f/data-converters-forum/1294001/dac53701evm-interface-not-initialized

Hi,

yes checked and both of those are in the install directory.

I installed the most recent one

I did just install the one you mentioned and it did not help

this is a corporate machine with standard firewalls that I absolutely cannot change, however it did not block anything during the install

I did check that NI is allowed through the firewall and that is true. 

also tried that command and that does not fix the issue either.

Do you have the following path in the Program Data folder in your C drive?

To see the program data folder you'll have to select show hidden items:

Is there a file called smart-dac-evm-gui.ini? 

If so, does it have the following information populated in it?:

If the file or folder is missing, please upload the attached file and try opening the GUI again.

Ok so I did not have the TI folder at all, I added it, added the subfolder and added the ini file. i did notice the ini file in the root directory for the application in program files is very different from the one you sent over. unfortunately still get the same error after making these changes

Thanks. There's really nothing that looks wrong here. The only concerning thing is that you said the LabVIEW runtime engine was not installed. This means something with your installation was blocked by your computer. 

If you want to continue debugging, I will generate a new version of the GUI that skips the loading page. This will let us see what is actually broken with the VI, though the error still may not be too descriptive. I am traveling right now, but will be able to get you this version of the GUI within the next few days or Monday by the latest.

Ok thanks for that. I even tried on a new work computer and the same issues. I did install the runtime engine but still fails. Would still love to use this part, but we need to be able to test it first.

I will be out of office next week, so I will look for the test build when i get back on the 15th
