ADS1672: Regarding the Future of the ADS1672

Part Number: ADS1672
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS127L21

Tool/software:

Hello,

I hope this message finds you well. I’m writing to inquire about the ADS1672 converter. I noticed that the evaluation board associated with this model has been marked as obsolete. I would like to know if the ADS1672 itself is at risk of becoming obsolete in the near future.

If it is not, could you please provide an estimate of how long it might remain available on the market?

Thank you in advance for your assistance and clarification.

Best regards,
Valentin

  • Hello Valentin,

The ADS1672 device is fully active and built on a modern process node.  There are no plans to obsolete this device.

We had to obsolete the evaluation board because the software was no longer compatible with modern operating systems and we did not have resources available to update the EVM to a newer platform that could be fully supported on Windows 10/11.

We also recently released a new wideband Delta-sigma that supports up to 512ksps, the ADS127L21.  The ADS127L21 is TI's latest generation wideband delta-sigma ADC and has an evaluation board available.
