[FAQ] ADS1298R: How are the lead-off comparator thresholds set?

Tool/software:

In the ADS129x family, a 4-bit DAC is used to set the lead-off detection threshold for the positive and negative channels inputs. The DAC settings are configured writing to COMP_TH[2:0] in the LOFF control register. The threshold voltages are relative to the total analog supply voltage and normalized to AVSS.

For example, when COMP_TH[2:0] = 000b:

Positive Threshold = 0.95 * [AVDD - AVSS] + AVSS

Negative Threshold = 0.05 * [AVDD - AVSS] + AVSS
