ADS52J90EVM: Not able to evaluate using TSW14J50EVM

A couple of months ago we ordered the ADS52J90EVM and since we're interested in using these ADC's for a big project we wanted to use the JESD204 interface. To accomplish this we wanted to order the TSW14J56 but since that EVM is no longer being produced. We ordered the TSW14J50EVM instead, because it should be functional identical to the TSW14J56.

However when powering everything up and starting the HSDC Pro software, the ADS52J90 configuration is nowhere to be seen.

Sharing the guidelines for evaluating ADS52J90EVM with TSW14J50EVM along with correct config files would appreciated.

Hi,

Pease find the attachment which explains TSW14J56 to TSW14J50 transition.

But this for ADS52j91 which is updated version of ADS52j90.

Hi, Thank you for this detailed explanation however the Setup_ADS52J91_EVM_v1.0.0.exe is needed but not present in the .zip file that is provided.

How did you get the EVM for ADS52J90 EVM file ? Is it though TI ? You can request that in ti.com portal

I don't understand you question. I've ordered the ADS52J90EVM through one of the partners of TI. Installed the software for both EVM's following the user guide. I have the physical board here on my desk. What additional EVM should I request through which portal?

This is correct .

Setup_ADS52J91_EVM_v1.0.0.exe for ADS52J91

HMC-DAQ_GUI_INSTALLER_SLOC326_v2.8 FOR ADS52J90

Here steps are given for AD52J91 . Please follow similar steps for ADS52J90 .

Right.... But as I mentioned before, the Setup_ADS52J91_EVM_v1.0.0.exe is nowhere to be found. I understand that I need it, but I don't know how to get it. If i "google" this file the only hit is this forum with this exact same question.

You dont need Setup_ADS52J91_EVM_v1.0.0.exe. You have already installed HMC-DAQ_GUI_INSTALLER_SLOC326_v2.8

Alright.... I'm starting to lose my patience a bit. My sincere apologies if I'm starting to sound a bit grumpy.
But as far as I know I do need it. The instructions you provided in the .zip file mention the Setup_ADS52J91_EVM_v1.0.0.exe file. The instruction specifically mentions absolute paths for example.

C:\Program Files (x86)\Texas Instruments\ADS52J91 EVM\Config Files\ADS52J91\ADS52J91vA\Firmware INI Files

This path or its subpaths does not exist at all, following a standard installation with publicly available software. So either your instructions aren't correct or your missing a key file that multiple customers on this forum are asking for. I recommend to try installing and configuring this yourself on a clean system, following the instructions and using the resources you provided. Its not possible without more background knowledge of these applications that I and probably your other customers do not have.

We are not going to order the thousands of these ADC's we've planned, if we are not able to evaluate them using at least TI's own software.
