Part Number: ADS131E08

Tool/software:

Hello:

I can't download software from the TI website at www.ti.com/tool/ADS131E08EVM-PDK

Error 404,

Please help provide,Thanks!!!

  • Hi Jimmy,

We are upgrading the ADS131E08EVM hardware and the GUI software, it will take a least one month to release them since now. Right now I'm checking if we can share a link with you and you will have to ask the customer engineers to download it from that link. I will let you know once I have more information.

    Dale

  • Hi Jimmy,

Please share the following link with customers. Note that this software is only valid for the older version of the EVM as shown in the image below:

    ADS131EVM-PDK-SW (old version)

  • Hi Dale,

We recently purchased this Evalboard and came across this forum post during our software research. In this context, we have a few questions:

Will the upcoming update of the GUI software be compatible with the current Evalboard? Is there possibly a connection to a potential discontinuation of the ADS131E08?

Our initial tests with the ADC have been very satisfactory – thank you for that. However, we noticed that changing the PGA gain setting via the software does not appear to have any effect on the signal. Are you aware of any known issue in the software regarding this behavior?

Thank you in advance for your support. We look forward to your response.

    BR,
    Michael

  • Hi Michael,

Please see the following answers regarding your questions:

    1. No, the new EVM and GUI have been designed with new controller platform that has been used for many TI precision ADC EVMs, they will be completely different from the existing EVM and GUI.
    2. Can you please clarify "Is there possibly a connection to a potential discontinuation of the ADS131E08?"?
    3. When you changed the Gain, the full scale range of the ADC was changed, but the code/voltage displayed in the GUI should be same if your analog input signal applied to the ADC input was not changed.

    BR,

    Dale

  • Hi Dale,

    Thanks for the quick response.

    1)

It's a pity it wasn't clear that a new eval board is being released.

    2)
I'm wondering if this also affects the product lifecycle: Is it just the evaluation board that's being updated, or are there changes planned for the ADS131E0x itself? In other words – is the ADS131E0x still recommended for new designs?

    3)
Thanks as well for the clarification regarding the PGA – all clear now.

    BR,

    Michael

  • Hi Michael,

The EVM was upgraded because the existing EVM was designed with an old controller platform and also the GUI was not compatible with our most EVM GUI software. This upgrade is not related to the product. ADS131E0x is still a very good ADC and it has a lot of features and good specifications, definitely it will be still a recommendation for a new design for long time in the future.

    BR,

    Dale
