Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS131M08

Hi team.

My customer met an error from ADS131E08EVM GUI as graph shown. Before they use it normally and today they found this error. Do you have any idea about why this error appears? The hardware and laptop has no change. It's really wired that we tried two boards on different laptop and the error is same. Could you pls help with it?

Thanks!

  • Hi Rayna,

This might be related to the behavior to these questions: https://e2e.ti.com/support/data-converters-group/data-converters/f/data-converters-forum/1011400/ads131b04-q1evm-device-not-supported---error and https://e2e.ti.com/support/data-converters-group/data-converters/f/data-converters-forum/187089/ads1259-error-code-6004 Can you follow the same steps and post the error message or behavior you see?

Unfortunately, I don't believe you can use the ADS131M08 EVM GUI instead of the E08 GUI but you're welcome to try. Anyways, its clear the EEPROM might have been incorrectly programmed, and I'll let our software team know to see if they have any comments.

Alternatively, this might be that the LabView runtime engine wasn't correctly installed during installation or you didn't install or run the program as an administrator as the GUI is having a hard time finding (or doesn't permission to find) the Labview VIs needed to run the GUI.

    Best,

    -Cole

    Edit: from the software team:

"We can only guess at the problem, but I think it might have something to do with trying to write to a file in the C:\Program Files (x86)\ADS131E08EVM\ directory. Modern versions of Windows don’t like it when applications try to write to Program Files (x86)\ and this GUI was not originally developed for an older version of Windows.

... try to copy the application directory to a different location (that is not UAC protected) and running it from the new location…when doing so, the program will prompt the user for the location of cstyx.dll (previously found in the C:\Program Files (x86)\ADS131E08EVM\ADS131E08EVM\lib_13xe08\Styx\cstyx\win32\ sub-directory)."
