ADS1232: Reading onboard Temperature Sensor

The issue seems to persist. The ADC generates a value of 415922, corresponding to a Voltage of 123mV (ADCout/ADC_MAX)*(Vref/2)

This would mean the chiptemp is at 25°C + ((123mV-111.7mV)/379uV/°C) = 56°C which is unreasonable directly after startup imo.

Could someone check where I went wrong? Or are the factors provided in the datasheet wrong?

Hi Damian Hörner,

See this post about the accuracy of the internal temp sensor, it seems to be more of a coarse measurement that is not trimmed initially. So it is possible the initial value is a few mV off, which would impact your calculations: https://e2e.ti.com/support/data-converters-group/data-converters/f/data-converters-forum/708784/ads1232-typically-voltage-of-temperature-sensor

Does the temperature track correctly? For example, let's say that you have the device in a chamber at 25C and it initially reads 40C. When you increase the temp in the chamber to 40C, does the measured value read 55C? If so, then you just have an initial offset that needs to be manually calibrated out

sadly, we don't have a climate chamber, but I'll do some measurements and compare the readings to a PT100 and report back
