About ADC12DJ5200RFEVM + TSW14J57EVM related to previsous post.

ADC12DJ5200RFEVM: ADC GUI script for ADC12DJ5200RFEVM - Data converters forum - Data converters - TI E2E support forums

Clock setting is External mode(default).

When click the Capture botton, show following and doesn't show waveform on HSDC pro GUI.

Do you know the reason why this message show?

Read DDR to file CAPTURE_FLAG_NOT_SET Capture done bit not set

Is it correct to select "JMODE0" for ADC on HSDC pro GUI?

There is not JMODE1 on the list of GUI.

Hello ttd,

Can you please check that you are giving the correct sampling clock and reference clock to the ADC evm and that they are both reference locked

I tried to set frequency-locked with 10MHz, but appeared same message at GUI.

I'd like to know work around of this message to get correct waveform at GUI(HSDC pro).

Hi TTD,

I am not sure that ini file is correct for JMODE0. It says ......JMODE0_TI_IP.

Please use "ADC12DJxx00_JMODE0" instead and let us know what you find.

I selected ADC12DJ3200_JMODE0_4G_6G and was able to capture it.

There are other ADC12DJ3200_JMODE0_ as below, which one should I select?

ADC12DJ3200_JMODE0_3G_4G
ADC12DJ3200_JMODE0_6G_6pG

But since the devices are different, are these inherently different settings?

Correct setting is "ADC12DJxx00RF_JMODE0" you said, however I didn't find it on GUI(ver 5.31).

Please use HSDCPro v5.2 to use "ADC12DJxx00RF_JMODE0". This is also available on the web.

Hi Rob,

Thank you for updating the installer.

I can choose "ADC12DJxx00RF_JMODE0".

I was able to acquire waveforms in Single Channel, but JMODE of Dual Channel is not displayed and I cannot acquire.
I would like to acquire waveforms with JMODE 2 or 3, preferably 30.
Is there any way to solve this problem?

Hi Rob,

I use "External Clocking Options(Default)" . Should I change the clock setting for ADC GUI or HSDC GUI?

If so, could you attach the GUI what I should change?

On the ADC GUI, I can set the Dual-Channel by changing the JMODE setting,
but HSDC can't appear Dual-Channel JMODE in the list, so it cannot be set.
The Channel switching tab is 1/1 on HSDC, so I can only select 1Channel.

TTD,

Please use ext clocking/default. You can choose JMODE1 (single channel) or JMODE3 (dual channel). Turns out the FPGA ref clock is the same, 260MHz.

This is selected on the ADC GUI in the drop down list.

Then reprogram the ADC after the JM is selected.

Next, you choose the JM on the HSDCPro, or JM3.

Your EVM setup should look as follows. Is this what you have?

The only JMODE3 that can be selected in HSDC v5.2 is
ADC12DJ3200_JMODE3_2G_3G or
ADC12DJ3200_JMODE3_3G_3p2G
.
This will only work with sampling rates up to 3G.
How can I confirm that it works at 5G?

I see a following folder on v5.2 and it seems not to have a JMODE3 file.

I guess that I need to add patch(.ini) for requred JMODE.

Previous post provide ini files for REV-A7 you confirmed TSW14J58EVM revision.

Can I use this ini files for "DC182_A10" as well for HSDC pro v5.2?

This is the first time the J58 data capture board was mentioned. The post says J57.

Anyway, if you plan to use the J58, let me set this up tomorrow in the lab and I'll confirm my findings.

You are planning to use JMODE 3, correct?

Again, my settings and required JMODE is following.

■My ADC + TSW

ADC12DJ5200RFEVM + TSW14J58EVM(DC182_A10)

■HSDC Pro

v5.2 (At first, I used latest version (v5.31), but down version as your advices)

■Required JMODE

JMODE0 ( As your advice, I use HSDCPro v5.2 to use "ADC12DJxx00RF_JMODE0 )

JMODE2

JMODE3

JMODE30 (if possible)

I was able to get JMODE30 to work with the J58, HSDCPro v5.2.

See pic below.

I set it up as normal.

I was not able to get the other JMODEs to work on either HSDCPro with the J58.

I will ask internally if these JMODEs are something we can support on this platform.

I know you can do those JMODEs with a J57.

In addition, I'd like to JMODE31.

Current status I can set on v5.2 is following.

Make a copy of the JMODE30.ini file. Rename it JMODE31 and inside the file, simply change M = 2 and S = 20.

I tried changing Number of channel=2, but it did not work in dual Channel.
